The New Forestown Study Centre project is an initiative of the Komati Foundation, a registered non-profit organisation. It was founded in order to promote public benefit and access to education in all aspects. The envisaged new Centre will cost an estimated R6 million (approx $1 million) to establish. This includes the cost of the property to be acquired, as well as construction and furnishings. Whilst overseas aid will always be encouraged and welcomed -- especially in the initial phase, to kickstart the project -- for sustainability and long-term results, however, the most successful project will be that which derives strong continuous support from South African entities, both private and public, as well as from local individuals. We are acutely aware that any positive vision for the future demands an investment in leadership values, and a strong and sustained implementation of those proven programs that build leadership. South Africa has made enormous progress in defusing the hostilities of its past, winning the admiration of people around the world. Now we must work together to build the future. If we are to build a future that is worthwhile, in which all our citizens live in dignity, safety and security, then we must be prepared to invest for the long term. The Forestown Study Centre is one such project, focused not just on present short-term needs, but on the future. You are invited to contribute in realising this vision. |
