At the Komati Foundation the promotion of women is a priority. African women are without doubt one of the moving forces of the continent. The training of women leaders is especially urgent in South Africa, where women have been (and still are) in an inferior situation with regards to labour, social and family issues. Komati Foundation has a special committee, the Komati Foundation – Women Development Committee, dedicated to the upliftment of women.
In December 1999 the Women Development Committee started its projects with women from all walks of life: students, professionals and the unemployed.
